My heart and prayers go out to U.S. Army Sgt.Elder Fernandes as well as his family and friends. Sgt. Elder Fernandes was laid to rest yesterday at Melrose Cemetery after a funeral mass was held at St. Edith Stein in Brockton. It is a very sad day in the City if Brockton. May you Rest In Peace. You will not be forgotten. May God be with your loved ones in this most difficult time. Please remember our community mourns with you. ... See MoreSee Less

The Governor signed H.3984 An Act relative to the gender neutral redraft of the home rule charter of the town of Easton, that I filed on behalf of the Town of Easton, MA. On Friday I joined with Mayor Sullivan, Representative Gerry Cassidy and others for a tour of the Sycamore on Main housing development being overseen by Neighborworks Housing solutions.

The project will put 48 new housing units on underutilized properties in Downtown Brockton and was made possible through various grants and loans through MassHousing.

Thank you Neighborworks for the tour of the development, the work is coming along great and I look forward to following its future progress!

I was proud to join with Representative Stephen F. Lynch, State Representative Gerry Cassidy, State Senator Walter F. Timilty , as well as other local officials and residents in a demonstration to support the institution and workers of the Rocky Marciano Post Office in Brockton.

It is unconscionable that in the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic- when we rely on the postal service more than ever- that there are those who would try to tear down this historic and necessary institution.

I support the workers of APWU Local #3844. Thank you to all those who serve the vital interests of life and commerce for millions of residents across the nation.
