BROCKTON - It was a clean sweep for state Rep. Michael Brady, D-Brockton, on Tuesday night as he won every precinct in the Democratic primary to replace former state Sen. Thomas Kennedy, D- Brockton.
Brady captured 3,257 votes, almost 90 percent of the total votes cast, en route to defeating first-time candidate Joseph Lynch, D-Brockton. Lynch, an economic development consultant for a Boston-based company, could only muster 461 votes.
In an election characterized by low-turnout, the majority of Brady’s support came from Brockton, where he captured 2,533 votes, including 302 votes in Ward 7. Lynch, a Ward 7 resident could only garner 79 votes in the ward.
